The track officially goes live at 8pm but yours truly is in
the very privileged position of having had this track in my possession since
last night. And what a track it is.
If you have ever seen the band live then chances are you
will have heard this mighty slice of rock greatness before, but trust me when I
say you have never heard it quite like this.
The opening line ‘Raining bullets on my conscience’ is just brilliant
and a total signal of intent, this track is a musical assault.
The riffs are big; the drums are crisp and clean while the
vocal from front man Mitch Jones is as powerful as ever. This really is FAOS at
their very best. The breakdowns are fantastic; as always the boys are in total
tune with one another, and the vocal layering adds another nice little element
to the track. As far as comparisons with their other recordings go I’d say this would probably sit along something like ‘Dysphasia.’ It’s very much a FAOS record but there is no danger of it sounding predictable. It’s them but a little bit different.
Basically what we have is a straight up hard record that will have you air drumming like you think you’re Dave Grohl. I’ve said before that Face Of A Stranger are on a serious upward curve and on this evidence it shows no sign of stopping.
